Cheshire Homes Chandigarh announces Awards for Differently Abled

Cheshire Homes, Chandigarh commemorated the International Day of Persons with Diabilities on 2nd December.

Dr. Raj Bahadur, Director-Principal of the Government Medical College and Hospitals, Sector 32 was the chief guest.


Mrs. Revathy Rugmini, Director, South Asia Leonard Cheshire Disability from Bangalore, who was the guest of honor, announced the institution of annual awards in following five categories:
a. Differently abled person
b. Individuals working for the Disabled
c. Institution/NGO caring for the Disabled
d. Institution/NGO providing education/skills to the Disabled
e. Best Employwer/Financial Supporter to the Disabled.

The awards will be conferred on the UN Disabled Day which falls on 3rd of March 2013.

Dr. Raj Bahadur distributed aids and appliances, artificial limbs, rehabilitation support to 15 physically challenged persons from the tricity.









More than 200 differently-abled persons were also provided free medical check up by the doctors from Rotary Club of Chandigarh Midtown.


Dr. V.J.S. Vohra, Prosthetic Advisor to the Chandigarh Administration, issued travel concession passes to 10 differently-abled persons.



Later lunch was also served to all those who attended the camp as well as the team of doctors.
