Cheshire Homes Chandigarh organised multiple specialized camps for the physically challenged oday which was attended by over 150 people.
Dr. Raj Bahadur, Director Principal Government Medical College & Hospital Sector 32, visited the camp and also handed over prosthetic limbs (right forearm) a wheel chair and a bicycle to needy physically challenged persons.
Gurdip Singh Deep, President of Cheshire Homes, informed that the objective was to provide single window service to the physically challenged persons in the region and bring various agencies together for their benefit.
A team of doctors from Government Medical College and Hospital Sector 32 conducted the assessment of nearly 50 for disability certification of physically challenged.
Over 30 railway passes were also issued to physically challenged by Government’s authorized agency, Nevedac Prosthetic Centre headed by Dr. V.J.S. Vohra.
A team of Rotarian doctors from Rotary Club Chandigarh Midtown also conducted a free medical checkup camp.
The inmates of Cheshire Homes Chandigarh besides National Handicapped Welfare Council Haryana, Physically Handicapped Association of Punjab, Association of Physically Disabled Dadu Majra, and Rotary Community Corps from Khuda Ali Sher participated in the camp.
Twenty physically challenged persons also donated blood on the occasion which was managed by the transfusion team from Government Hospital Panchkula conducted the blood donation camp.
