Gurdip Singh Deep to head
Cheshire Homes
Gurdip Singh Deep has been unanimously
elected chairman of the Cheshire Homes Chandigarh for a period of two years.
At the annual general meeting of Cheshire Homes Chandigarh held on 20th May 2012, other office bearers included Raminder Kaur
Panag, Vice Chairperson, Maniki Deep, General Secretary,
Mukesh Gupta, Treasurer, with Neena Singh, Dr. V.J.S. Vohra, Charanjit Singh,
Keshav Wadhawan and Shaju Peter as members of the government body.
The Cheshire Homes in Chandigarh was established on 5th
November 2002 under guidance of Lt Gen J.F.R. Jacob (retd), the then
Administrator of UT Chandigarh and Governor of Punjab, which today houses 19 physically challenged persons in the building
allotted by Chandigarh Administration in Sector 21.
Cheshire Homes has envisioned
several initiatives to help the destitute physically challenged persons,
rehabilitate them, and provide them appropriate vocational skills to make them
self-reliant.
